A fine quality George IV sterling silver Regency coffee pot, profusely and skilfully decorated with dual panels of pastoral scenes depicting the Chinese tea harvest with figures picking tea leaf plants, sorting and transporting baskets, the body decorated with floral sprays and foliate scrolls, the hinged cover surmounted by a figural finial, the spout similarly decorated and culminating with zoomorphic inspired aperture, with turned fruitwood handle.

 

The body fully hallmarked with London Assay Office marks, the interior of the hinged cover correctly part-marked, sponsor's mark is struck to the underside of the base.

 

Maker: Michael Starkey.

Condition: Excellent antique condition. Free from damage and repair. The decoration remains crisp. A fine quality piece.
