A good quality early George III period sterling silver salver with a pierced, cast and applied gallery border, decorated with Rococo scrolls, fancy birds, figures and flower heads, with finely engraved central armorial, atop three pierced cast volute scroll bracket feet.
The border is secured to the central section with a lap join. The border is correctly marked with the sponsor's mark, in addition to full hallmarks struck to the underside of the central section.
