A fine quality and exceptional Victorian sterling silver scent or perfume bottle flask, of rectangular form, the hinged cover with domed paneled top, the exterior with all-over engraved and chased decoration depicting concentric circles of foliate scrolls, expertly highlighted in polished silver amidst a stippled background, the hinged cover opens to reveal a silver-gilt or vermeil interior, which houses the original glass perfume bottle or vial with its original well-fitting stopper, the detachable base plate is well-fitting and securely houses the internal bottle.
All component parts of this piece, including the main body, the interior of the hinged cover, and the detachable base plate are clearly hallmarked and all hallmarks duly match.

Condition: The silver is in excellent condition and the decoration is good and crisp. All hallmarks are clear and well-struck. The interior glass bottle or vial does have some chips to the rim and one chip measures 0.7cm in length, noticed only when the interior glass bottle is completely removed from the silver exterior. Mentioned purely for accuracy.
