A late Victorian mother of pearl and tortoiseshell dual bottle perfume caddy.

 

The rectangular casket decorated to the exterior with rhomboid shaped mother of pearl tesserae, likely abalone shell, the top with a canted border, embellished with tortoiseshell.

 

The hinged cover is released by depressing a circular push button, opening to reveal a royal blue satin lined fitted interior, comprising two divisions housing contemporary small glass perfume bottles, each fitted with a white metal screw thread cap.

Condition:

Excellent antique condition. Some expected wear to the original interior from use. Crucially, the exterior inlaid panels are free from losses. The hinged cover of the caddy snaps shut and closes tightly. No cracks to the bottles and the caps fit well.
